Sweet! My buddy and I were thinking about going, but couldn’t get away from work.

I love, love, love that track. I hope I get to go back someday to just enjoy it. Beautiful shots!

Really nice pictures, I wish I could have made it out.
I’m going to be at RA for a track day in a few weeks (with this guy ), and I really hope someone has a nice camera and half the skills you do (seriously - nice stuff. On your site, too).
I don’t really care too much about the pictures as much as I care about the driving, but with the fall colors it should be pretty gorgeous. No pictures from last time other than ones I took myself.
The viewfinder on my DSLR is all sorts of wonky, so I’m surprised anything is in focus in that picture - even if it’s the wrong thing.

Thanks for the comments! I used to do track days in my STi. Such an awesome experience.

Bummer... I got lucky and happened to have off plus my kids were at school. Perfect storm. :)

It is such a photogenic track. So many great spots close to the track without fences in the way.

What event are you doing...?

MVP. Solid events put on by good people. A lot more no-nonsense than some other events I’ve seen, and usually a pretty mature, respectful (and safe!) group.
Those two days will probably be my last on the track for awhile though, since I’ll probably be selling my BRZ in spring. Not sure what I’ll be getting yet, but who knows if it’ll be track-ready. I’ve got a few options, each with their own excuses. Focus RS? Not sure I’d want to put it on the track right away. Fiesta ST? I’d probably buy a separate track car with the money I saved vs the RS. Something else? Who knows.
Still plenty of time in the BRZ for winter autocross and ice racing, though. Awesome.

...We have different opinions of “good people” then... I ran an event with them last year, and never will again.

If you’re talking about problem drivers... In my (limited) experience, they’ve quashed it pretty well. I’m not saying everyone is great (skill or attitude), just that there are comparatively fewer people with a problem than other events I’ve seen - and they’re dealt with in a different way.
If you’re talking about the organizers... that’s another discussion. I’ve only had one issue, but it wasn’t really a big deal and easy to avoid. I’m satisfied.
I’m fine with it until I start to see something that leads me to go elsewhere. If someone or something is unsafe or uncomfortable, I have no problem pulling in and staying in until it’s sorted. If it isn’t sorted, it’s easy enough to leave and not come back.
e: Just saw your post earlier this year about Midwest Domestics, I’ll have to check them out next spring. Like I mentioned above, I’ll probably be selling my car by then anyway, but who knows.

The organizer. I can’t find them now, but I recall his pre-event emails being full of sexist comments, and I remember him making some during the drivers meeting as well. That doesn’t fly with me.

Ah. He can be a bit of a personality, but I also deal with far bigger personalities on a daily basis. He’s been helpful and friendly every time I’ve spoken with him. The emails and meetings haven’t been outrageous, either. A few corny jokes, but nothing that I thought was off-color. Who knows though, maybe I’m just more willing to let it slide.

That is lucky!
Oh well for me. I bought my tickets and booked a room the day the race was announced. It’s gonna be a great weekend!
